Established in 1995 to mark the 50th anniversary of Victory over Facist Germany. The obverse of the medal depicts Moscow in the centre with the words "FOR OUR SOVIET NATIVE LAND". The reverse has the words "50 Years, VICTORIES OVER GREAT DOMESTIC WAR".
