I think that this medal was part of the competition to design a WWI Memorial Medal, the winning entry can be seen under British, on the top row of button. It has the name A.Drury RA on both sides. It was purchased from New Zeland and I believe that it is WWI, rather than WWII for many reasons.
1 - Very patriotic Britannia bestowing the laurel leaf.
2 - The battleship on the reverse is a WWI class vessel.
3 - The lack of the Royal Air Force being represented, as this was formed on 1st April 1918, almost the end of the war.
