Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct
Date: 24th August 1831
Reciptent: A.C.Shipman Chief Stoker HMS Revenge
Services: Royal Navy
Medal Composite: Silver
Clasps: None
Number Issued: Unknown
Notes : Issued for 15 year service of good conduct. in 1981 commisioned officers
whom had spent 12 years in ranks became eligble for this award. On the reverse of the medal we
see a man-of-war surround by rope, tied in a reef knot at the base. I personally have always
thought that this is 'HMS Victory', Admiral Nelson's flagship at Trafalgar, as she is still the
flagship of the British fleet. This medal was issued between 1931 and 1936, as per the monarch's bust on the obverse.
