The Obverse of this medal depicts Britainnia with an outstretched arm,
holding a laurel wreath, pointed towards 'R' in Africa. On the first issue of
this medal the year 1899-1902 where included, but on 2nd and 3rd versions this
was omitted. However on 2nd types "ghost dates" can be seen. The 3rd type saw
Britainnia's arm moved to point at 'F' in Africa.
I have a Queens South Africa medal with the clasp "Orange River Colony".
This clasp is under investigation to determine its orginality - at present this
seems to be an unoffical clasp.
