Number Issued : 365,622 , this includes some 145,000 clasps.
Notes : Sometimes referred to as the Mons Star it was awarded to
those whom served in France and Belgium between the dates denoted by the
clasp, but not those whom served afloat. If personnel had been underfire
during this period they where entitiled to where the clasp. Most of the
365,622 reciptents were men whom had been in the army prior to the declaration
of war. On the 19th October 1919 it was announced that the King had approved
the wearing of the clasp.
